Did you see a rider get cleaned up on at Glenloch yesterday?

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a collision that occurred about 9 am yesterday morning (Tuesday, February 20), which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

The collision occurred on the Glenloch Interchange on Tuggeranong Parkway about 150m north of the Lady Denman Drive off-ramp.

All southbound lanes on the parkway were closed for a period of two hours and traffic was diverted onto Lady Denman Drive around the collision scene.

The motorcyclist suffered multiple bone fractures and internal injuries and is undergoing surgery.

Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

#23 You have one incident over, it seems, more than a year and that paints motorcyclists as some sort of maniacal group constantly playing fast and loose with traffic. If you go back over this and similar threads you will see theres more angst over other drivers almost everyday.Motorcyclists are just like everyone else. There some good ones and some bad ones. They dont need to be singled out just because you dont happen to fit your narrow profile.of how life should be lived.

You might have more credibility in promoting your opinions if it wasnt clear you just look for an easy troll on every topic. My only comfort in this is if Im not sure on a topic I can be certain the opposite of what you say will be the most logical and reasonable approach.

So you think motorcycling fundamentalists are justified in characterising all motorists as careless and unsafe?

I almost hit a motorcyclist last year – eastbound on Parkes way he suddenly changed into the right lane level with my front left wheel. Lucky for me there’s no gutter there because a split second later I had two wheels in the grass. Of course he then disappeared into the distance ahead of me, despite the fact *I* was already on the speed limit myself. I wonder if *he*’s still alive?

heh. Which is what the Canturf ute did yesterday, only at the Fairbairn lights, and the next two roundabouts. I guess he could contain his rage no longer.

So you’re saying, when you’re bumbling along (not breaking ANY road rules of course) in your magna with your straw hat on, it’s way more important to check your phone or to look in the mirror at your lipstick that smeared when you went over that last pothole that magically appeared out of nowhere or to brush that combover down one more time or to take another swig of your can of beam, rather than look out for things like, say, the road conditions or a cyclist or a pedestrian or an animal or another vehicle in your frigging lane. Then yell at said victims, vehicles, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians who are just trying to get away from you ignorant tunnel vision numpties who were allowed a licence.

Wow. I drive in from Queanbeyan to the city every day, leaving at about 8.30am, and it usually takes 25 mins. Roadworks in your area?

I think he was referring more to the traffic jam yesterday. I drove in from Belco along William Hovell with my kids for a play at Questacon and was stuck at Glenloch for longer than it would usually take me to commute the whole way.

I didn’t witness the accident but came through heading Northbound just a while after it happened. I saw a firetruck blocking the road and fireman around the guy lying injured in the middle of the road. No ambulance had arrived yet and he looked in a bad way. The motorcycle was on the ground and looked like a wreck. I felt awful for the rider and it’s sad to hear he was badly injured. Get well soon mate!
