Tuggeranong Festival is on this weekend at Tuggers Town Park. So all those morning swimmers at Lakeside Leisure Centre on Monday be warned – the carpark will be littered with empty winecasks, bongs, Jim Beam cans and fast food scraps and rubbish. A pity those of us trying to do something positive and keep fit have to be inconvenienced by the slack bogans and other lowlifes.
Almost forgot! There will be a Zombie Walk on Saturday 27 November! It starts at 5pm in Glebe Park and goes for two hours. Dress up in tomato sauce, freshly woken up hair and a two day bristly growth and stumble your way there tomorrow.
Or get your cricket bat and a few LPs and hoe into them!
The Identical Strangers are playing at the Vikings club in Erindale this Saturday night.
The show starts at 8.30 & goes til the wee small hours. Drop in for a lager & a listen.
Google gave no clues to Wa Wa Nee etc ….. But did find that The Church are playing at Tilley’s in december

This will sound a bit vague, but on the way to work today, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a sign saying something about “Kids in the Kitchen and Wa Wa Nee 26th November” on a sign in Lyneham. I was probably half asleep, does anyone know anything about this?
Wa Wa Nee – are you serious? Wow, how awesome.

RETRIEVAL will take our audience on a weaving journey deep into the stack of the National Library. It will be an expedition into our collective past. A cyclical journey of deposit and retrieval ensues – of stories past and stories to come. Whose voices do we revere? Whose stories do we listen to? Why do we record and archive our past if we do not learn from it? The stack is the keeper of our past – it is a maze of the stories of humanity. Stories of the mundane and of great profundity are deposited there hoping one day to be retrieved – to be read – to be heard – to be of use – to make a difference. History repeats itself when stories are not heard and heeded. It is our collective duty to retrieve the distant and recent past and learn from it but so often we do not go into the dark or unfamiliar spaces to do this. RETRIEVAL challenges us to look back in order to look forward.
