So what do people know is happening this weekend (or near it) that’s interesting, exciting or just something one should be seen at?

For all those going to the monster trucks; get there early as I suspect the parking will be horrendous and the views only marginally better. That being said; enjoy.
Remember that this will eclipse the previous attendence record at this venue by about 9,800 people (Based on a figure of 10,000 tickets one of my colleagues was kicking around this morning).
same monster trucks for this bloke too. Rugby presso RUC 7pm, H-Block happy hour. sports bar greyhound betting with gay abandon
UPDATE: KillYourLiverFest…
Drank all night did not go to bed, went to work managed to suck down a beer at lunch albeit very strained…. reving myself up for part two starting in 1 hour……
I haven’t killed my liver….yet, but I may have some trouble getting it through the pub doorway.
Tonight (Friday), from 5-9 PM, Material Pleasures is holding its Spring Sale at the Botanic Gardens.
Material Pleasures is a second hand and seconds clothing shop, normally selling from Gorman House Markets.
Caution Horses are playing at the sale, as they have done for quite a few of the biannual (does that mean twice a year) sales.
I presume there will be grog and nibblies available.

The Durham on Friday is the place to be seen, happensance I saw Simon Corbell in Green Square last Friday looking earnestly towards the Durham ready to go in and check out some faces ?
My wife supressed my exclamation “Look it’s Seven Storey Simon” with her hand quite quickly.
And to kick it off:
The RMC’s annual Beat the Retreat and 1812 Overture is on Thursday and Friday next week (29 and 30 Sept). Tis a whole bunch of (to me) semi-interesting marching stuff and then a great concert with the RMC band’s usual mix of classical and popular, finished off with the great guns of Tchaikovsy’s 1812 Overture.
Yes, I know it’s a week away but if you want to go you should think about booking tickets now. There might be some coupon in the CT you’re sposed to have, but I haven’t seen one and my advice would be to ring RMC and demand tickets (they’re free).
