A drunk driver was allegedly seven times over the legal driving limit after she crashed her car in southern Canberra on the weekend.
An ACT Policing spokesperson said that at around 6 pm on Saturday (19 April), police heard that a silver Toyota Corolla crashed into a concrete barrier in Phillip before continuing to drive along Yamba Drive.
Police went to the home of a 39-year-old woman in Garran shortly afterwards and found the Corolla with damage to its front driver’s side.
The woman was given an alcohol screening test that returned a positive result.
She was then taken to the City Police Station for a breath analysis test. She allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) reading of 0.357, which is more than seven times the legal limit.
The woman was immediately suspended from driving for 90 days and charged with drink driving.
She is scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court in May.
