Expert watchmaker/repairer in Canberra?

Can anyone recommend a watchmaker in Canberra who has expertise in antique watch restorations and repairs?

I have recently come into possession of a pocket watch which belonged to my great-great grandmother so I estimate it was manufactured late 19th or early 20th century.

I am looking to have it cleaned and lubricated but want to know it will be well looked after due to its sentimental value (i.e. I don’t want to hand it over to just anyone who will accept the job just for the business even though they may not best placed to do so).

Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Very reasonable rates and is a collector of all sorts of beautiful old timepieces some of which are on display in his shop come workshop.

Another vote for AJ Watch repairs. Old fashioned service and good repairs. But be warned it is quite expensive for any repairs on old clocks/watches.

There is a clock repair place in Garema Place Civic (i can’t remember the name right now) but they did a really good job repairing an old grandfather clock. i’d give them a buzz

It would be worth having a chat to the guys at AJ’s Watch Repairs. They’re located in Bailey’s Arcade in the city.

I can’t say for sure they’ll be able to help with your specific situation, but I’ve always had good service there and think they would definitely be worth a visit.

I like Dr Watch in Petrie Plaza, fantastic bloke, great to deal with.

I dropped in a watch, a service is about $300 for a modern watch, so I’m guessing it will be a bit more for yours.
