Andrew Barr has let it be known that at 9am this morning the first light tower is going up at Manuka Oval.
I eagerly await Canberra’s admission into the horrifically named Big Bash League on this basis.

Not before time … PM’s XI is all of six weeks away.
I heard an allegation that these lights were to be somehow temporary … surely this can’t be the case?
No they had to do some serious concrete foundations for the lights. There was a preference for retractable lighting, but for the cost and the timeframe its not possible. Of course i’m sure the Manuka Residents association or similar will complain.

Well, we’re all temporary aren’t we?
A Canberra Comets (or whatever) BBL team would be very cool.

Yeah, I would have thought we could host a team in the BBL.
