The usually do laps just out to the west of Weston Creek towards Mt Stromlo for about 15-20 mins prior to the flyover, which is usually a better display that the flyover itself!
Spot on. Scored a great view of the Roulettes from the fence line above Eucumbene Drive for about 20 minutes this evening!

What kind of a person would steal your bike?
The same pricks that steal my oxygen, I assume.
Regrettably, due to the weather some flypasts and displays have been already been cancelled, (NT and QLD), and others may be cancelled at short notice.

Yes, thankyou. Towing a trailer with two kids in it I’ll actually be following the bike paths and stopping to hop off the bike and walk it across each road crossing so as to set a good example for the little banshees.
So I guess I’ll just ride as close as I can and find something to lock the bikes to then.

It looks like a very different set up to previous years. Normally it’s split between the guns at Rond Terraces and the flag at Regatta Point. When I went past tonight they had fenced off most of Rond Terraces and put in a few temporary flag poles. I would probably just approach via the lake path till you have to get off and walk the bikes. You should probably bring some ear protection for the kids. The F/A-18’s and guns will be loud.

Anyone got any tips on cycling to the Rond Terrace event?
Ride on the road wearing brightly coloured skin tight lycra and make sure you break several road rules whilst at the same time flaunting the fact that you don’t pay registration.
That way someone will see you and post about it here.
If you want the thread to be in contention for a Mully you should consider doing the above whilst on a recumbent bicycle.

I forgot to say e.g.: http://www.defence.gov.au/media/AlertTpl.cfm?CurrentId=11311

Roulettes will generally post to http://www.airforce.gov.au/Roulettes/ (but can be behind)
Also the various RAAF, Roulettes, balloon and Fighter World facebook pages generally post or repost the information as well. Again they can be late. Which is frustrating at times.
https://www.facebook.com/RAAF.Roulettes
https://www.facebook.com/RoyalAustralianAirForce
https://www.facebook.com/fighterworld
Usually, but not always they will post the details to http://defence.gov.au/media/index.cfm supposedly a few days before, but often on the day or just after the event in my experience.
