I remember the first birthday party.

Yeas, the times when the Phoenix used to be a great place. Those days disappeared they “renovated” the place. Been there twice since – won’t step foot in there again.

Saw a suspect mushrooms gig there when I was under the influence of several kinds of gawd knows what – was a great time 😛

I don’t remember being photographed…

drinking pre-mix bought from the shop two doors down when outside in the queue waiting to get into bootlegs…seeing so many people wanting to see local canberra bands makes me very proud….having to pee badly from said pre-mix whilst in the queue -not so great!

dahahoo shows packed to the rafters and people stomping and danicng like mad mofos – thank goodness all that mould keeps the floorboards together at times like that.

Same for changeable dan.

I went through a tight little stage, but I’ve put on weight since.

You can’t really get the full effect of the whole band(s) but you get an idea.

had some top nights there – drinking those shots where you set the bar on fire- however going have disagree on the gigging aspect i hated it for plating shows..

I love the Phoenix mostly because of teh cast of characters you can meet but the last couple of times I’ve gone there I’ve woken up with the worst sore throat and the smell in there appears to have gone beyond just unwashed body to active mould cultures fermenting.

The other thing they do that irks me… and i know it’s tradition but bang that damn bell or pot and yell “phoenix will be closing in xx minutes so F*CK OFF!” I mean seriously your customers who just spent $20 – $100 each do not need to be screamed at to f off just because a certain hour is approaching personally i think it’s just rude and bad business.
