EARLIER, Monday, 20 October: Police are renewing their appeal for help to find a 13-year-old girl who hasn’t been heard from for five days.
Janessa Williams has not been seen or heard from since 5:30 pm on Wednesday (15 October) and was last seen in Lyons.
“Despite extensive enquiries, police have been unable to locate her,” a police spokesperson said.
“Janessa is known to frequent Lyons, Higgins, Woden, Gungahlin and Karabar.
“Police continue to hold concerns for her welfare, and are requesting the public’s assistance to locate her.”

16 OCTOBER: Police are calling for the public’s help to find a 13-year-old girl who has gone missing from southern Canberra.
Janessa Williams was last seen in Lyons and went missing on Wednesday (15 October), an ACT Policing spokesperson said.
She is described as being First Nations in appearance, about 152 cm tall with a slim build and long brown hair.
She was last seen wearing a black North Face puffer jacket, grey and black track pants, a black hoodie and white shoes.
“Concerns are held for Janessa’s welfare, and police are requesting the public’s assistance to locate her,” the police spokesperson said.
