For more than a decade, Canberra-born brand Abode Hotels has shaped its own “home away from home” niche in the accommodation scene of the national capital. Its newest addition, Abode Tuggeranong, leans right in.

The value proposition is simple: the comfort and flexibility of apartment-style living with all the ease of hotel services, according to Brett Walker, general manager of Abode Hotels’ operators Iconic Hotels.

“Our properties across the ACT and regional NSW are designed to feel welcoming and practical, whether guests are staying for one night or a few weeks,” he says.

“A lot of guests tell us they love the convenience of our apartment-style rooms and the comfort that comes with having practical features on hand.

“We want guests to feel like they have their own home base, not just a room to sleep in.”

Abode Tuggeranong is no exception.

The hotel is just moments from SouthPoint and the lake, with easy access to shops, dining and essential services.

It also offers shared laundry facilities, a gym, select rooms with kitchenettes and ample outdoor parking with plenty of space for both cars and trailers, making arrivals and departures straightforward.

With multiple room and bed configurations on offer, Abode Tuggeranong is geared to suit a wide mix of travellers from large groups to individuals, for stays short and long.

“We see families, sporting groups, people visiting loved ones and guests attending medical appointments in the area,” Brett says.

“Guests can choose from the standard queen and twin rooms right through to terrace studios, balcony studios and family studios. The larger rooms give guests more space to spread out and select room types also include kitchenettes for added convenience during longer visits.”

Accessible rooms are specially designed for mobility-impaired guests and there is a select number of pet-friendly rooms available as well.

“Our pet-friendly stays are extremely popular,” Brett says.

“We keep it very simple. Pets stay in our designated pet-friendly rooms, they need to be supervised and kept on a lead in shared areas and that is about it.

“It allows guests to travel comfortably without having to leave their pets behind.”

And since the magic word is convenience, Abode Tuggeranong is one of the Abode hotels with an “Abode Pantry” — an in-house service offering guests delivery of snacks, drinks and ready-made frozen meals directly to their rooms, like a digital mini-mart accessible online via their guest portal during reception hours.

Completing the picture, the buffet breakfast offers your morning pick-me-up without leaving the building.

Right now, guests who book a twin room, terrace studio, balcony studio or accessible room at Abode enjoy a complimentary daily breakfast.
