Police have arrested two men for aggravated burglary at a Fyshwick business early this morning (Monday 7 February).
Around 3.40am police were called to an activated alarm at Canberra Sand and Gravel (CSG). Upon approaching the premises police observed three men running from the office.
Police gave chase to the men, who ran into the woodlands adjacent to the yard of the business. A short time later an officer located a man hiding under tree branches and breathing heavily.
At 4.20am ACT Policing’s K9 unit arrived and conducted a search of the area. The police dog located a second offender lying amongst scrap metal near the CSG office.
The search of the area failed to locate the third offender.
The front door to the premises had been forced open and the office has been extensively damaged.
The two men were taken to the ACT Watch House where they were charged with aggravated burglary, intent to commit theft and damage property.
