SB, if that is the case I’m surprised Stanhope hasn’t appropriated the moon as one of his Street Art installations.
GG: waxing the moon is what made it so bright last night after the eclipse…
“Nope, the normal waxing and waning is the position of the sun against the moon, I guess in a sense it’s eclipsing itself, but last night was the earth’s shadow.”
Sorry dude, I was just trying to be a smartarse. It happens sometimes.
I watched and took pictures last night, but by the time I got outside (about 8:40pm) pretty much of the show was done. (Location Weston Creek, so the eastern hills delayed moonrise for just that much longer.)

Isn’t the waxing and waning of the moon just a very slow cycle of eclipses?
missed it, dammit; not many windows in emergency wards… 🙁
but yes, post-‘clipse was a very bright orb indeed.
I feel stupid. I saw the moon like that, and didn’t realise it was the elipse.
My other photos from last night.

That housing isn’t in Dunlop… There would be half a dozen trees that size in Dunlop… 😉
Looks more like the northwest corner (Mileham/Archdall) of Macgregor taken near King Swim/Primary School.
Really nice shot… alloneoworld should also submit it to ABC News.
Like it.
Guess you had to be in the right place to get this as we did not see it at all.
