ACT Policing’s Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) will close a section of the Kings Highway between Queanbeyan and Bungendore for sporadic periods this Sunday (February 27) as part of its investigation into a fatal collision last month.
A comprehensive police investigation surrounds the death of a 51-year-old Bungendore woman, who died as a result of a two-vehicle collision on the highway on January 17.
Police are planning to close the highway to traffic in both directions for periods of up to 10 minutes between 11am and 2pm.
The team will be reconstructing elements of the collision in accordance with witness statements and these outcomes will form part of the CIRT brief of evidence.
Police apologise for any inconvenience to the travelling public which may result from Sunday’s temporary road closures, and will endeavour to minimise any disruption caused.
