It does not take a genius to look at that image and realise it was taken from the passenger side of the vehicle behind, as visible in the reflected image in the back of the red car.

I am not Martin who sent the picture to JB, I just also happened to have noticed the car, saw the thread and shared my experience.

Apologies! My mind ran amok with all the different scenarios that could have resulted from a drive down GDE to Kambah via Phillip and it sounded like a really cool road trip, and I was hoping against hope that this could turn into a great story to tell the grandkids one day….never mind about the camera quip – I’m just addicted to Loiuse Maher’s drive time programme and often listen in to the policeman talkback on Thursday afternoons when they discuss all sorts of cool ways to break the law!

All he is missing is a Southern Cross sticker. Actually, he probably has that tattooed on his back already

I’m sure he’s probably referring to the outrageous High Court decision in ICM Agriculture v Commonwealth, which ruled that reducing a licensee’s groundwater entitlement under an aquifer access licence didn’t abridge the licensee’s rights to reasonable use of the waters of rivers. Knew someone was going to mention this.

It was before and through the southbound GDE road works – he came from way back zig-zagging through traffic to get one car ahead of me as we got to the road works, drove above 60 through them, but then as mentioned slowed down significantly when he got a fairly long phone call and I overtook him just past the end of GDE road works. He then came zooming back through traffic to overtake me again. As another poster alluded to above, he didnt end up getting very far ahead as I later passed him waiting to turn right into (surprise, surprise) Kambah.

(FTR I did not actually time it as I was driving, however 10 minutes seems like a fair estimate.)

The number 8 does not transfer well to Old English font, as do the other characters. I think he’d have trouble seeing out the back window in his rear vision mirror as well.

Guy was driving erratically to say the least – absolutely flogging it, then appeared to get a phone call and started driving about 20kmh through the GDE roadworks, then obviously finished the phone call as he sped up and started weaving in and out of traffic again.
