Hi,
Another interesting TCC meeting this month. Members and visitors were given an update on the Federal Government funding announcement to clean up Lake Tuggeranong and the results of the Clean Up effort around the Lake by an army of volunteers. Wayne King spoke on the advice he received from the ACT Government the park on the corner of Deamer and Heagney Cres in Chisholm has been saved from developers and officially renamed Caroline Chisholm Park. We heard from local members, Mick Gentleman, Nicole Lawder and Andrew Wall and were given an opportunity to put them on the spot with some good questions from the floor. Linda Kohlhagen gave us a update on the redevelopment of the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre and Danny O’Neill spoke about his work with youth at risk in Canberra. We were sorry to learn that Sergeant Daryl Neit is moving on but we were pleased to welcome Sergeant Joanne Cameron who will provide us with regular updates from the Tuggeranong Valley Police beat. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 1 April where our guest speaker will be Ben Smith from Capital Metro. He will talk on the development of light rail in Canberra. See you at the next TCC meeting.
