
A NSW man will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday (18 July) following a home invasion in Florey earlier this week.
Around 4 pm on Tuesday afternoon (16 July), police received a report that two men had entered a Florey residence armed with weapons before allegedly threatening the occupants.
A 31-year-old man was located in a garage at McCallum Street, Florey a short time later where police arrested him.
Police also found a backpack in the garage which contained a loaded sawn-off shotgun, a large kitchen knife and cable ties.
A short time later, police located a car that was linked to the two men. Police seized a second sawn-off shotgun, a number of knives and items of clothing from the vehicle.
Police are looking for the second man believed to be involved in the incident. He is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 175cm (5’9”) tall, with a solid build and short hair.
The 31-year-old man from Eden, NSW will face aggravated robbery and firearms charges.
Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police including the identity of the second man to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
