ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the robbery and assault of a man in Civic earlier this morning (Thursday, January 26).
About midday police were on foot patrol and located the man lying in some bushes in the laneway behind the Canberra Theatre.
The man has what appears to be minor injuries and was missing his wallet and keys. He has been taken by ACT Ambulance Service to The Canberra Hospital for assessment.
Initial enquiries have revealed the man left Mooseheads between 5 and 5.30am, walking to the back of Pitts Street car park near the Canberra Theatre. The man’s movements from here on are unknown.
Anyone who may have been in the area between 5am and 6am and seen suspicious activity or may be able to assist police with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
