ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to two aggravated robbery incidents last night (Tuesday, April 26).
Around 5.45pm two women were walking along a bike path on Challis Street, Dickson when they were approached by a man and woman who forcibly removed a jacket, backpack and shopping trolley from them. One of the victims was kicked by one of the offenders, before both offenders fled towards North Lyneham.
The first offender is described as male in his 20s or 30s, approximately 183cm (6’) tall, medium build, of Indian appearance, with dark eyes and hair. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper. The second offender is described as a solidly-built teenage woman with dark skin, wearing a hat.
In a separate incident, around 11.10pm, a 21-year-old man was approached from behind by two men while he was walking along a bike path behind Ulverstone Street, Lyons. One of the offenders demanded the victim’s wallet and mobile phone and when the victim refused, he was punched. The offenders left in the direction of Launceston Street, Lyons.
The first offender is described as muscular, 178cm (5’10”), wearing a dark hooded jumper and track pants. The second offender is described as slim, 178cm (5’10”) tall, wearing a dark hooded jumper and jeans.
Anyone who was in the Dickson or Lyons area where the incidents took place and may have seen people matching the descriptions provided or acting suspiciously are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
