The ABC is reporting here that a bunch of nimbys calling themselves the “Range Community Landscape Guardians” are opposing ActewAGL constructing a wind farm north of Hall.
I wonder where the Greens stand on this issue.

thre is a solution though get the nimby to pony up for solar panels that revers charge the system on thier roofs. bet they change minds super quick then!
Agreed guys. I alternate between Canberra and Newcastle and the prototype windmill at kooragang near my digs is no louder than the average bonaire/ pedestal fan that most have in thier home. cant even hear it when doors are open, have to walk down to the road to get the prop boom.Freinds at Crook well also cant see the fuss. and they have more than one near thier property.cheap Electricity without major pollution im all for.
As for Hall residents Being precocious and pretentious i Also agree.
My experience of Hall residents has been that they are exceedingly precious and pretentious, so this comes as no surprise to me. I’ve been to a modern wind farm and, as mentioned in the article, they do NOT make any more noise than the wind rustling in the trees.
I’d suggest that the precious few are more concerned about the potential for the eyesore to impact on property value – which may be fair enough if this is a possibility. Personally I can’t see how the visual impact of the towers would effect property value, but I’m no expert in the field. Besides, nobody will see the towers through all the stinking trees out there…
I’d consider my self as one of them ‘retard greenie bastards’ (no affiliation with the party, though) and would love to see more windfars. As for Hall, have a coalmine or a nuclear reactor as alternative proposals or ration their electricity to 2 hours/day.
naturally these nimby bastards are all in favour of renewable sutainable energy, just not near them.
