ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating a collision between an elderly pedestrian and motorcyclist which occurred yesterday (Wednesday, January 30) in Higgins.
Around 7.15pm, the 71-year-old Calwell man was crossing Kingsford Smith Drive, Higgins when he stepped from the centre median strip into oncoming traffic and was struck by a motorcycle.
The man was transported to The Canberra Hospital due to his injuries. The 26-year-old motorcycle rider from Flynn suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website act.crimestoppers.com.au.
