Dog of the Week: Jack

With the flow of puppies regularly streaming from our shelter of late, you’re bound to find a little tacker to join your family and among the possibilities is Jack the Staffy.

Getting a pup this young (3 months) is great because they can start their learning journey with your expectations in mind. They can learn, for example, that cats can be friendly.

Staffies are traditionally real people lovers, and all indications suggest Jack is precisely that. Even at his young age, he loves getting close, snuggling on your lap, and he’ll roll over for a good belly rub.

He’s already learning to walk on a lead and responds well to training. Continue the work and get a lifetime companion in Jack from our shelter today.

Cat of the Week: Lily

Sweet Lily has quite the story. She was originally adopted from us many years ago and lived a wonderful life with a great owner. Sadly, through unfortunate circumstances, she’s back, and at age 17, she’s fairly particular.

Among other normal, manageable ailments for a cat her age, she’s very hard of hearing. So when she comes out of her snuggly bed, she’ll let out some almighty meows, which she most likely cannot hear.

She has zero time for other cats and, with a combination of hisses and screams, will tell them as much. But around people, she’ll relax nicely and keep you company.

Lily loves snuggling up in her bed, which is where you’ll find her when you visit the shelter.

Pawnotes: You beauty! Last week’s Pets of the Week, Peppermint and Willow, were both adopted! Thanks for being a great animal-loving community, Canberra!

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
