ACT Policing apprehended three juveniles last night (Friday, 8 November) after an aggravated robbery on Nott Street, Fraser.
About 9.30pm, three juveniles followed a man from a bus stop in Daley Crescent onto Nott Street and demanded the man’s mobile phone and bag containing personal items. After refusing the demands, the man was struck in the jaw before the offenders fled the location with his belongings.
The man used a software application to locate the stolen phone, this information led police to Shakespeare Crescent, Fraser, where they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and identified three suspects.
A search of the vehicle revealed some of the property belonging to the complainant. The remaining items were found close to the location of the robbery and at the premises of one of the offenders on Shakespeare Crescent.
The juveniles were conveyed to Belconnen Police Station where their parents were called. Two of them will be summonsed for aggravated robbery.
ACT Policing is urging people to be vigilant about their personal safety and take steps to avoid becoming a victim of crime. For personal safety tips visit police.act.gov.au.
