
A 27-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (31 May) charged with multiple offences after he attempted to flee arrest late last night.
Around 12:45 last night, police attended a Theodore home in relation to a man who had an outstanding warrant for firearm offences, possession of stolen property and stolen motor vehicles.
Around 1:45 am, the man fled the residence on foot but was apprehended by police a short distance away. Police found a flick knife in his trousers as well as a taser, credit card knife and two clip seal bags containing suspected methylamphetamine in his bum-bag.
Police also found a modified handgun in one of the bedrooms.
The 27-year-old man has been charged with an outstanding warrant, possession of prohibited weapons and possession of a drug of dependence. The man has outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions and police will oppose bail.
Enquiries in relation to the handgun are ongoing.
