A 29-year-old man will face court today on drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant at a residence in O’Connor yesterday (Thursday, March 17).

Detectives from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations Drug team executed the warrant around 2.50pm when they found a sophisticated “grow house” containing approximately 100 cannabis plants in six separate rooms within the house and in a shed outside.

Electricity supply to the house had been extensively modified.

If properly grown and harvested, police estimate the plants would have a potential street value of more than $500,000.

Further enquiries are underway.

The man will be charged with the cultivation of a controlled plant, and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning.
