ACT Policing is calling for witnesses to a fire within a unit complex in Belconnen last night (Monday, February 18).
Police attended the Howie Court location about 10pm and observed the unit to be engulfed by flames.
ACT Fire and Rescue were in attendance and extinguished the blaze.
A number of adjoining units were affected by smoke with two neighbouring residents taken to Calvary Hospital suffering smoke inhalation.
At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown. A forensic examination is expected to occur today to determine if it is suspicious or not.
The unit sustained extensive damage and the repair cost is currently unknown.
Police would like to speak to any witnesses who saw the fire and anyone who may have recorded the fire on their mobile phone.
