ACT Fire and Rescue were in attendance and extinguished the blaze.
A number of adjoining units were affected by smoke with two neighbouring residents taken to Calvary Hospital suffering smoke inhalation.
At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown. A forensic examination is expected to occur today to determine if it is suspicious or not.
The unit sustained extensive damage and the repair cost is currently unknown.
