ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a fire that was deliberately lit at The Gentlemen’s Club in Mitchell overnight.
ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the business premises in Grimwade St, Mitchell, around 10.47pm and after having quickly extinguished the blaze and conducted early investigations, then called police.
A crime scene has been established at the location and Criminal Investigations detectives are conducting enquiries. Initial forensic studies are underway.
No-one was inside the premises when the fire started.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard suspicious behaviour near the club or in the immediate vicinity of Grimwade St, Mitchell, between the hours of 6pm to 11pm last night (Monday, January 1) to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information may be provided anonymously.
