ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations Drug Team detectives early today (Tuesday November 16) executed a search warrant on a house in Fadden, seizing over $10,000 worth of steroids and other illicit drugs.
Following information received from members of the public, detectives executed the warrant around 5am on the Gowrie Street house, where they located the illicit substances in both the kitchen and a bedroom.
A 27-year-old man is expected to be summonsed at a later date to face charges relating to the possession of illicit drugs.
Today’s drug seizure follows on from a search warrant conducted at a Kingston unit last week, in which detectives seized a number of packages suspected to contain methyl amphetamine (ICE).
Information from the community is vital in helping police combat the production and distribution of amphetamines. This Friday, ACT Policing and Crime Stoppers are participating in a national phone-in day, “Say Something Day”, codenamed Operation Unification.
Anyone with any information about illicit drug use and distribution in the community is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, where they can speak with police anonymously.
