ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred in Erindale last night (Saturday October 23).
About 9:50pm two male offenders, one armed with a firearm, entered the ACTAB at Erindale shops demanding money from the safe.
The offender with the shotgun approached the staff member demanding access to behind the counter. The staff member unlocked the door and the offender entered, demanding the staff member to fill a bag with cash.
The other offender remained as a lookout just inside the front door.
Patrons were made to lie on the ground and face the wall throughout the incident.
The first offender is described as approximately 185cm tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black coloured pullover, dark blue track pants, white joggers and white gardening gloves.
The second offender is described as approximately 170 – 180 cm tall with a medium build, wearing a dark coloured pullover, blue jeans, dark joggers and dark gloves.
Both males were wearing black beanies and bandanas concealing their faces.
The offenders made off with a large amount of money and were last seen heading in the direction of the rear car park near Woolworths.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
