ACT Policing has arrested a 16-year-old female in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Mawson earlier this week.
Police will allege the young person was in the company of a group of youths who threatened a man with a knife after he withdrew money from an ATM in the Southlands Shopping Centre on Wednesday night (26 May). The male victim handed over his money and other personal property to the group of youths, who then stole the victim’s car which was later recovered in Beasley Street, Mawson.
The young person will face the ACT Children’s Court this morning (Saturday 29 May) charged with aggravated robbery, ride in motor vehicle without consent and theft.
Investigations into this incident are ongoing, and anyone who has not yet spoken to police and has further information which may assist the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
