+1. The Greens did good work raising issues in the past, but now they’re just a bunch of idiots.

I think you’ll find very few people would disagree that the party was started on principles of environmentalism and conservation. These days they are nothing more than social engineers, bent on telling everybody what’s good for them.

Labor voting for the greens in Canberra for the senate will not change anything, Lundy gets well over a quota and a majority of her extra votes flow to the greens anyway. for the greens to get in they need to convince liberal voters to vote labor or green. I still think its close to a mathematical impossibility for the conservative vote to fall below 33.3333% plus 1.

I don’t know why they’re making a big deal about it. Looking at the distributions from 2010, I don’t see how Simon is a threat unless Labor decides to only run Kate Lundy (which they’re not since Chris Sant is already second on the ticket.)

I don’t see any Liberals jumping ship to him, even if there is a segment who is pissed that Zed kicked Gary out.

Sant will swallow up all of Lundy’s surplus, and the Liberal ticket will secure itself a second place. So the effort is curious.

Exactly, I don’t know why people think this will be close. The Libs will take the second seat comfortably.
