So the police suggested that you keep everything possible for a car thief to on sell your car after selling it, in the car? Just like the the police specifically suggest people don’t do??

RAPID doesnt use the rego label, it ‘reads’ the number plate then looks it up electronically.

In my case, the rego number was ACT and was only issued a few weeks earlier. The funny thing was, the officer knew when the car was last registered in NSW, so the system must have gone far enough to match my current rego to my VIN, but then it tried to look for current registration for that VIN and came up as unregistered. The problem was solved when the officer pulled out his mobile phone, spoke to someone for about 5min, came back and explained.

I wonder if that explains why I keep getting pulled over in NSW/Vic for apparently being unregistered. Ive learnt the hard way to always keep my vehicles complete paperwork (including original receipt) as in 12 months Ive been flagged and pulled over 3 times by this system.

This doesn’t show RAPID at work. It shows the police showing off their flashing lights and their groovy green traffic cones. Oh, don’t forget they give out a ticket every now and then too.

Seriously, how much would they have spent making a useless video like this one. I would get more information from watching them while sitting in the bottle-neck of traffic they create in peak hour times.

I see, but that’s not all they do. RAPID don’t just target unreg/uninsured/unlicenced. The TIN could have been for anything traffic related.

The footage isn’t that new. They’ve just edited the footage from the launch of the vehicle’s, which is available on the ACT Police website.

I’d prefer to be taught something Beau not ‘learnt’ something and to be honest it did teach me a few things so no complaints here – would love to know more actually – how and when they are deployed over the course of an average week for instance.

What a waste of production time. It might be useful if it actually learnt the viewer something.

How do you think it’s supposed to happen Cheap? Should it be served to him on a silver platter? Driver is given the ticket, ticket is explained to driver by officer, person drives off. What is hard to understand about that?
