Police were forced to use road spikes to stop a drug-affected driver following a pursuit that began in Fyshwick just after midnight this morning (15 July).
A 27-year-old woman from Hackett driving a white Peugeot was observed at about 12:35 am by an ACT Policing patrol when she failed to stop at a red light in Fyshwick.
A marked patrol car followed the vehicle to Dairy Flat Rd where officers attempted to pull over the driver.
The driver failed to stop and continued on to Newcastle St where road spikes were deployed.
The vehicle continued along Canberra Ave before coming to a stop in Griffith.
The driver was arrested and was charged with a range of driving offences including dangerous driving, driving without a licence, failing to stop for police, driving an unregistered as well as uninsured vehicle in addition to driving while under the influence of drugs.
Further investigation also led to police laying further drug possession charges in addition to charges relating to the possession of a prohibited weapon.
The woman is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today, charged with a range of offences.
