Miranda has sent in evidence that should bring some joy to the ski fiends out there.

Yes indeedy that’s a light dusting of snow! As in stuff that falls from the sky not out of the barrel of a snow maker.

It was two degrees at 9am at CP when we left, and 5 degrees when we got back in the arvo. The ranger reckoned it was -9 wind-chill factor on the Main Range ridge… I think she might have been exaggerating by about 5 degrees…….

Rug up! Specially if it’s windy!

Too true! Last year I walked from CP over to Blue Lake in knee-deep snow in April. People were skiing down the side of Kosi. Then nothing.

Yep – the view of the Main Range from Charlotte Pass. I did the 21km CP-Koz-Blue Lake-CP walk on the weekend. Extremely cold, extremely windy and marvellously exhilarating!
