ACT Policing is investigating a stabbing at a Belconnen take away which occurred this morning (Wednesday, September 4).
At 7.07am, police were contacted by ACT Ambulance Service in relation to a report that there was a male at the premises who was bleeding from the abdomen.
Upon arrival police located a man inside who had sustained what appeared to be stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. ACT Ambulance Service attended and transported the injured male to The Canberra Hospital for medical treatment. He is undergoing surgery.
ACT Policing Belconnen Patrol, AFP Forensics and Specialist Response Group Dog team members responded to the incident. ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations are conducting an investigation.
Police are requesting anyone who was in the area at the time or can assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via their website www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
