Zed Seselja seems to think he’s onto a winner on the matter of street trees for everyone vs street trees for the Chief Minister’s special tree park on the edge of nowhere.
Leader of the Opposition, Zed Seselja, has announced the Canberra Liberals will bring a motion forward in the Assembly to call on the Government to prioritise funding for the street trees program ahead of the Arboretum.
This comes after budget papers reveal the ACT Labor has plundered street trees by slashing $10 million from the program.
“The Canberra Liberals believe that replacing trees in our suburbs, improving Canberra’s streetscapes and keeping the environment that Canberrans love, should be prioritised above Jon Stanhope’s Arboretum,” Zed said.
It’s an interesting way to govern a territory with spending decisions being constantly changed by the legislature. (If the Greens back the motion)
Here’s the poll we’ve been running on this since 21 May.
