Police have arrested a second person over an alleged home invasion in which a trio is said to have broken into a home, brandishing weapons and threatening the residents.

Earlier this year, an ACT Policing spokesperson alleged three people armed themselves with weapons before they broke into a home on Templestowe Avenue in Conder on the night of 8 January.

The trio reportedly threatened a man and a child who were at the home, then stole keys to a blue Holden Commodore.

When a neighbour came out to help, they were allegedly struck with a baseball bat.

Police said the home invaders then fled the scene in the Commodore and a Holden Barina.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested in February, accused of being involved in the incident.

She was handed charges including aggravated burglary, joint commission aggravated robbery, and joint commission taking a motor vehicle without consent.

This month, police arrested a teenager who was 17 at the time of the incident and alleged he was part of the group that broke into the home.

He was handed charges including aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.

He faced the ACT Children’s Court on Monday (21 July).

“Investigations into this matter remain ongoing and further charges are expected to be laid,” a police spokesperson said.
