Here it is! The first trailer’s out for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp and, more importantly for us, Canberra’s Mia Wasikowska as Alice.
It looks… freaky! Damn cats…

No, just cold hard cynicism.
And eighties music-driven fantasy romps.
is that some sort of weird euphemism for porn?
No, I was referring to eighties fantasy movies – i.e. Legend.
I didn’t know Mia was from Canberra! What a treat having a local girl hit the big time like this! The shorts look fantastic and I can’t wait to see it in March- Tim Burton is brilliant.

The shorts looked really good, if a little dark, as one would expect from Tim Burton. Mia is a vision of loveliness. The CGI looked pretty cool. The mad hatter looked scary! I’m very much looking forward to seeing it.
For a moment I thought Alice looks too tall and old … then I remembered that Alice in Wonderland was written by a paedophile … and I guess the movie might incorporate some romance – um, any male heros in Alice? Cheshire Cat & Alice? White Rabbit & Alice? … If they try I hope it works!

I predict that this will be like every other Tim Burton film featuring Johnny Depp over the past decade.
I think I’ll pass.
I refuse to get excited, in case it isn’t as good as I hope.
Wait, doh.
… I just hope he (Burton, that is) doesn’t ruin it the way he ruined Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Love Tim Burton, love Johnny Depp, and love love LOVE Mia Wasikowska! She is a really talented girl and I’m so pleased she has found some success in Hollywood. I hope she continues to have a successful career.
Looks like there’s some other big names. Noah Taylor is the other Aussie as the March Hare. Does anyone know what it’s going to be rated? It’s certainly not a kid’s movie.
