ACT Policing is searching for a man after he stole two computer tablets from the Belconnen Good Guys then forced another man to drive him to the city yesterday morning (Wednesday, August 31).
Around 10.10am a man entered the Good Guys store in Lathlain Street Belconnen. A short time later he fled the store after stealing two computer tablets (similar to iPads).
The offender then approached the driver of a purple Jeep Cherokee parked in Lathlain Street and threatened him at knife point to drive him to the city. When they reached Barry Drive in Turner, the offender got out of the vehicle and fled the area.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, 20 to 30 years of age, about 185cm (6’) tall, with a slim build. He has short dark hair, tanned skin and crooked discoloured front teeth. He was wearing a dark-coloured long sleeved top with horizontal white stripes, blue jeans and a dark-coloured baseball cap.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man matching the above description in the city area yesterday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
