The star went up this morning. Not sure who did it, but there were a bunch of ppl standing around Civic Square watching.

Theres thousands just off the road along the Tuggeranong Parkway. Apparently, most ideal time to harvest is midnight and the trees don’t like white light so best to use a green light torch. If they are too tall, chop one down and then cut the top 6 feet off and use that, those bits make fine Xmas trees!
I usually drive along the road until I see a “weed” growing on the roadside, then do the civilly responsible thing and remove the non-native invasive tree species to a safe location. It would be pretty irresponsible to leave a Pinus radiata uncontrolled in a native Australian environment.

Maybe a little too early to start asking this, but where does one go about finding a real tree in Canberra this year?

Beware afro-australians driving white vans when the lights get turned on!
I wonder if I can get them to come and put my tree up? I was planning to do it this week sometime.
Christmas time? What?? Is it Christmas time already???!!!
