Alexander Philip has been appointed as Assistant Secretary for the media and governance branch in the Department of Parliamentary Services.
Nicole Bain has been appointed branch head for whole-of-government contract negotiations in the Digital Transformation Agency.
Nina Ding, Elizabeth Edwards, James Morauta and Andrew Miles have been promoted as senior assistant counsels in the Office of Parliamentary Counsel.
Matt Searson has been named as the new head of the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee Secretariat in the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

Emily Martin has been promoted to First Assistant Secretary in the Department of Treasury.
Other government appointments
Former Australian men’s cricket captain Steve Waugh AO has been appointed to the Centre for Australia-India Relations Advisory Board.
The centre works across government, industry, academia and the community to build greater understanding within the Australia-India relationship and encourage business to seize the opportunities of the economic partnership. The advisory board helps set the strategic priorities for the centre’s programs and activities, supporting partnerships in business, the arts, education, health, science, technology and sport.
Liz Jack has been named as Australian Sports Commissioner.
Ms Jack is a public servant, sports administrator and former Olympic diver. She has held positions at the Tasmanian Department for Education, Children and Young People, Sport and Recreation Tasmania and the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, and most recently chaired Diving Australia.
