There’s a lot to see and do across the capital this week so read on for some of the best kids’ events, special workshops and comedy.

If the cold weather has you down and you need to let loose and blow off some steam, head to Mooseheads this Friday for its country night, complete with line dancing and great country tunes.

On Saturday, the Albert Hall becomes the scene of a high-fashion runway, with men’s and women’s outfits reminiscent of mid-century Hollywood glamour. The fashion-obsessed are sure to enjoy.

On Monday, comedy sensation (and puppet) Randy Feltface comes to the Canberra Theatre Centre, touring his (its?) latest show, First Banana.

All this and much more across the Canberra area – check them out.

Cost: Tickets $450. Book online.

Artists Aidan Hartshorn and Shane Herrington invite you to an engaging three-hour stone tool workshop that realises the relationship between traditional and modern material practices in the construction of cultural artefacts.

Hartshorn’s recent exhibition uses industrial materials such as glass and construction material to reflect on the creation of contemporary cultural objects in an era of the degradation of ancestral landscapes, placing focus on objects as practical tools and as manifestations of the daily life of a people.

This workshop is a fascinating and practical way to create cultural objects and reflect on methods of creation largely lost in the post-industrial age.
