The World’s Biggest Jumping Castle – along with a 300 metre obstacle course, sports arena and space-themed zone – has taken over the centre of Thoroughbred Park’s racecourse for one weekend only.
Big Bounce Australia has landed in the Capital to bring a wide range of inflatables and interactive zones for kids, teenagers and adults.
The jumping castle contains slides, climbing features, ball pits, basketball hoops and a central performance area with music and hosted activities.
The 300 m obstacle course has more than 50 challenges, while the space-themed airSPACE zone has slides and elevated platforms.
Those interested in team-based games and fast-paced movement can scratch that itch in the sports arena.
Big Bounce Australia tour manager Noa Overby said there was strong demand in Canberra for active, outdoor entertainment throughout summer.
“The Big Bounce offers a broad mix of activities that appeal to a wide range of ages and encourages people to get involved in something that is both social and physical.”
Thoroughbred Park might be better known for horse racing, but head of commercial and communications Robbie Ringland said they jumped at the chance to host something a bit different.
“Big Bounce aims to create special memories and that’s something we have in common. I’m sure there will be plenty of smiling faces here this weekend,” he said.
“This is our first time hosting Big Bounce and their inflatable landscape is so large that they’ll be utilizing the centre of our racecourse. This is the first time we’ve activated this space for some time so it’s an exciting event for our team.”

Thoroughbred Park has a packed calendar this year, including MMA show Dynasty of Combat and electronic music culture festival Digifest.
Mr Ringland said the crew was also preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the TAB Canberra Cup.
“That means the Canberra Cup is almost as old as Canberra itself,” he said.
“Celebrations will culminate with the running of the race on Black Opal Stakes Day on the 8th of March and we’re expecting another bumper crowd for our biggest day.”
Big Bounce Australia will be in Canberra from Friday, 16 January, to Sunday, 18 January.
Toddler sessions are designed for children aged three and under, junior sessions offer a more controlled setting for children up to the age of seven and bigger kids sessions cater for children up to the age of 15.
Adult only sessions are run separately and give the grown-ups dedicated time in the inflatable park without younger participants.
Tickets can be purchased online here.
