ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery on Hindmarsh Drive in Phillip that occurred early Saturday morning (January 8).
Around 6.10am, a 34-year-old woman was walking along Hindmarsh Drive near the Magnet Mart when a man approached her from behind. The man grabbed her back pack and attempted to cut the shoulder straps with a knife. A short altercation occurred before the man managed to cut the handles of two shopping bags she was carrying.
The man left the area on foot in the direction of Melrose Drive with the two shopping bags. The victim was not injured during the incident.
The man is described as aged in his twenties, approximately 170cms (5’6”) tall, with an average build and dark eyes and dark-coloured hair. He was wearing a black jumper, dark-coloured long pants and a baseball cap at the time of the robbery.
