When a stock standard campaign bus is enough to get lefties foaming at the mouth with hatred, I know we’ll be in good hands with our future PM Tony Abbott.
You’re the worst kind of voter. The type of person that labels anyone who doesn’t agree with everything Tony Abbott & the Liberal party stand for as a “leftie” or a “tree hugger”.
As opposed to some of the other voters here who wouldn’t board a bus simply because the outside of said bus has a photo of a politician they disagree with?
Another reason not to travel Murrays.
Greyhound beats it hands down. Heck, even going on the train is a better and more comfortable trip

Where did the Murray’s idea come from? 28 seconds on Google gets you multiple pictures of Tony standing in front of his campaign bus. I even found Bus Tony looking over real Tony as he’s about to lay a smooch on the “young, feisty , sex appeal possessing” Fiona Scott.
Hopefully this lack of fact checking and immediate assumptions won’t be a basis for actual votes come election time
Hi – I took this photo at Jolimont and confirmed with Murray’s that it was one of their normal passenger buses travelling Sydney to Canberra. Although if you are unable to believe this, please feel free to call Murray’s on 13 22 51. I am certain they will confirm this.
Also, if you look on the far left of the picture, you can see that the bus was in Jolimont Bay Number 4.

Wait, is this actually a Murray’s bus? Or is it a Liberals bus? It looks an awful lot like the one that’s been traipsing around on the campaign trail with him.
I’m a regular Murray’s customer, and I wouldn’t want to get on a bus that had ANY kind of political advertising. Yes, I would ask for a refund, or at least a shift to another service without the political branding. If they couldn’t offer me a “clean” alternative, I’d simply shift to another provider. Simple as that.
But like I say, apart from being at the Jolimont Centre, I can’t see anything to indicate that it’s a Murray’s bus. Anyone got further details?
Hey Nonidoll
I took this photo just before I boarded. It was just the Sydney to Canberra express that had left Sydney at 12pm this Monday. As I boarded, I asked the lady who ticked my name off and she confirmed it was a Murray’s bus.
Oh, and the advertising is on the entire bus!

Just did a quick google search. It appears that Murray’s get quite a few government contracts, yet they are overtly political.

Also, I’ll never travel Murray’s again after this. I don’t want to pay $39 a ticket to be a part of a moving advertisement for ANY political party.
Sooooo, you won’t be reading any newspapers or watching any commercial stations on TV, nor listening to any commercial radio stations? Nor using the internet? Ever again? By reading, listening, and watching, you are “part” of those outlets.

Agreed. It’s pretty hilarious.
And honestly, could you imagine the issues if the bus had a photo of Christine Milne on it? You’d have small children traumatised.

They are such a great organisation that it would not surprise me if they carried the Renaissance Art Exhibition and Floriade wraps for free because they know it`s great for Canberra. Even if they did charge it is still beneficial to all of us in ACT so eat your words fioBla post # 16.
The fact is that there would be posters here of the “…it’s a waste of my tax dollars…” ilk if local events ads were placed on Murrays buses. Which was the point of my post.
We’ll see election type ads during election time. Just like we see online comments ad nauseum about Santa Claus having nothing to do with XMas. But there’ll be still be Santa Clauses everywhere, every XMas.
There`s no doubt in my mind that Murrays are an important part of Canberra`s transport and promotion. Iconic I believe. Been a part of Canberra, in the same family for decades providing great services and fair prices. I travel with them regularly and part of their Loyalty group. I will continue to travel with them, but I do believe that it was a bad decision to carry political advertising no matter how much they got paid for it. Even if they did charge it is still beneficial to all of us in ACT so eat your words fioBla post # 16.
And in responce to joingla post # 11, I was including State, Local government (political in Sydney), Federal and Territory elections, so two elections voted in since T. Abbott became leader of Parliamentry Liberal Party.
Suggestion: stay on topic, don`t troll for opportunities to try to make fools of those with differing viewpoints.
Wait, is this actually a Murray’s bus? Or is it a Liberals bus? It looks an awful lot like the one that’s been traipsing around on the campaign trail with him.

If I had bought a bus ticket and this thing turned up, I would…
board the bus and start my journey.
There are more important things to care about.

…I have to say that I am shocked by the proprieter`s poor judgement in agreeing to this wrap on their coach. Their coaches have featured some amazing graphics for Canberra events attracting lots of visitors.
And I bet these posts would be “…and my tax dollars went to that?” type posts.

Just out of shot stuck to the back of the bus is a “Honk if you’re horny” bumper sticker….
“A Stronger Australia”………..with skin-tight red speedos and a ton of sex appeal????

Why would one risk alienating half the population? Ron Murray has certainly disappointed me and I`ve voted Liberal in every election since 1952 except the two sice Abbott became leader.
We’ve had two elections since Abbott became leader? I thought we’ve only had one.

Well given that a dog with fleas would poll better than Tony in Canberra, bus advertising – where he doesn’t have to talk to (shudders) public servants – is really his only option to ‘campaign’ in this town.

Providing his ugly mug is only on the left hand rear, overtaking the bus on the highway is unlikely to induce vomiting…
