Great photos. It was an incredible sight as we drove towards the event on Saturday night. We walked around on the hill for about 3 hours.
Same (that link with photo info) goes for images on FlickR (generally). EXIF data gets stored ‘inside the computer’. If you have an account, you CAN block it, but that kind of ruins the purpose of a “photo sharing” site… dunnit?
The cranes and things over at Russell photograph very well at night too – great location from carpark in ANZAC Park East (if that’s what it is called).

Thanks, that’s useful to know.

You are right Gerry – I said 30 which is actually the other photo from that vantage point looking over Belconnen which I actually like better because of the colour in the trails and the sky is all red (with no black empty space)
Really Nice Photos!!!

@ pommy bastard – the exposure on that shot was 30 seconds (bikes travel slow) but the closer shots were smaller, like 5 or 10 seconds.
@ motleychick – i got lucky with the sky that night, the cloud cover reflected the city glow. In fact to the naked eye the skyline didn’t look that impressive 🙂
That looks lovely! Haven’t been up there for quite some time. Might have to make the trip this weekend.
It was actually quite sureal being on the mountain, with the silence of the night and the bikes riding around in near complete silence.
It was quite mesmerising watching all the lights navigate the trails from the pits on Saturday night.
