ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a stabbing at Hawker shops on Saturday night (18 December).
About 11pm the victim was drinking with his brother and friends at the Hawker Soccer Club. They were approached by five men who introduced themselves and had drinks with the victim and his friends.
At 1am the victim left the club and entered the Soccer Club car park to catch a lift.
Shortly after the offending group of men left the club and an altercation broke out between the victim and the men. A member of the group stabbed the victim with a knife, causing a 30cm laceration from his chest to his back.
The offender then ran from the car park towards the Hawker Shell service station. The victim was driven to hospital by friends.
Anyone who may have witnessed the confrontation in the car park or can assist police with the investigation are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
