Well none of you rated any part of the Multi-Fringe festival (Aside from “lets eat BBQ and get pissed day” on Saturday in Civic).
So what *is* worth a gander over the weekend?

Oh, and in other things, Screensound has two, count ’em, two outdoor screenings this weekend -The Beatle’s “Yellow Submarine” on Friday night (replacing the screening cancelled due to the downpour on New Years Eve), and “Carnival of Souls” presented by the mildy-adequate-but-still-not-Margaret-or-David Jamie Leonader (the metrosexual male on SBS’ unfortunate recasting of “The Movie Show”). It’s $8, screenings start at 8:30, seating is deckchair compliant and
And as advance warning, on Monday the ANU Film group kicks off its 41st program with a free screening of “Casino Royale” (yes, the Daniel Craig one, not the David Niven one) at the Coombes Lecture theatre on the ANU campus, on the corner of Garran and Fellowes roads. Screening starts at 8, but the doors open at 7 – arrive early to guarantee a seat. The rest of the program for the first half of the year has been announced, and it looks like a doozy – check it out at this here link thing.
At the street theatre tomorrow afternnon, 5:30-7, ImproACT presents “Fearless Fridays” – lotsa made up stuff in a theatresportsy vein – with live music, apparently (and no, I’m unable to ascertain who the live music is). Yes, I’m also aware that another event used to take place at the Street Theatre on Fridays last year and is no longer under somewhat controversial circumstances, but hey, I’m sure nobody’s bitter about that, right?
The Mighty ACT (OK… they used to be ACT) Brumbies take on the Auckland (I think they still identify with their home) Blues at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night. Pregame wrap is on the Brumbies website.
Then if you recover from celebrating a big Brumbies win, CORC (Canberra OffRoad Cyclists) is running Cross Country Moutain Bike racing on Sunday morning at Kowen Forest. Check the CORC website for details.
The Amazing Canberra Race sounds like fun! Too bad all my friends have pissed off to other parts of the country for the weekend.
There’s a travel expo on Sat @ Epic – FREE! Or for those willing to travel and love Music there’s a blue festival on at Goulburn!
Then the next day – go to Queanbeyan and try your luck out at Poker! Sundays @ Queanbeyan Golf Club 530pm game starts – $5 Rebuy tourney! (Clubpoker)
Yeah, not organised by us (PANTS that is), but it’s pretty damn cool. I’ll be there front and center with some sort of camera or something in hand.
Plan for it next year!
The Fuelers at the fringe tonight, 10:30ish at civic square (or so I hear).
Dahaahaahaahahahoo weren’t too bad last night. The comedians on immediately before them, however, were atrocious.
lol, macromantics were terrible last i saw them. i lasted about a song and a half when i realised they weren’t just taking the piss. outside i went.
Macromantics at Transit bar on Saturday night. Decent entertainment that’ll probably be cheap.
