Rleague informs us that the Raider’s Todd Carney has narrowly escaped jail time for his drink driving in Goulburn.

Instead he’s getting a five year driving ban, a $2,000 fine and an undisclosed fine by the Raiders.

He has, however, been cleared to play for the team.

Pity he doesn’t live in Charnwood. Then he could be the Charny Carney.

Some may recall I thought the Raiders had sent a bad message to their team a few months back when they snaffled up a player who was sacked from another team. I put it that the Raiders are now “reaping what they sow” here.

He got so much potential. Too bad he acts like a dickhead. Maybe its part of the job of being the raiders halfback. Look at Brett Finch….

He’s appealling WIN said.

That five year driving ban is going to curtail his extra-curricular activities.
