Hi, just wondering whether anyone had any info on Queanbeyan public schools and what kind of reputation they have.
Maybe also Jerrabomberra?

We have a very bad experience with QueanbeyanPublic School, also need recommendation for other school,
as its unbearable, parents has The Human right to hear the truth.
My son just 8 y old is bullied almost every day. Phisicly and emotionaly..After many times reported to school no any help or intervention has beed done by the school. Dear Parents, its not just our case.
However they are ” one of tbe best “in
HIDING, COVERING UP BULLYING
UNDER THE CARPET.
Our son is at Isabella (officially Queanbeyan Public) and we have not had any great difficulties. W ehave had issues with one teacher, but you get one or two teachers in any school that the students have issues with.
The school is pretty big but the impression we got from other parents and from parents whose kids go to other schools n the area was that it was one of, if not the, best primary schools in the area.
Also, I wouldn’t be too concerned about demographics at Queanbeyan South. People think it is rough because of the Southbar Road area, but we have lived in Karabar for eight years now and never had a problem. I see more crime and issues from my office window at Woden in a month then I have seen in Queanbeyan in eight years. I only cross the border to work now, everything else I can do in Queanbeyan.
I have heard St Gregorys is perhaps not so great on the academics, friends had their child there and moved them to Marist and found their child was significantly behind the other kids starting the same year from different public and private schools, despite not being thought to be behind (particularly in reading) at St Gregorys.

Got a kid at Jerra, very happy. I understand QBN public and St Greg’s are also good.
Me too and agree.

all wonderful…
don’t go near those awful, dangerous, low achieving private schools across the border in the capital territory.
The only one i would potentially warn against is south, mainly because its in a rough neighbourhood so you get a few more behaviour problems. All of them are very big schools, especially Qbn Public and Jerra. West was great when i worked there, great staff and good kids. Every school has a few behaviour problems, but they were managed well in those schools.
I have worked at all of them (except Jerra, but I know a lot of staff there) and would happily send my kids to them without issue.
