I understand that the RiotAct organizes the odd get together, but is anyone interested in a more general canberra bloggers grogblog?
I’m proposing Wednesday the 7th of May, 6pm, the Pheonix.

Ah ha. Well, I’ve tried that before, the people who know each other meet up, the rest of us wander around a bit, and then go home. Been there, done that, no thanks.
I arranged a meet-up for an interest-based forum some years back, and undertook to print up a sign with the forum’s logo on it. We had a massive turn out, because everyone who turned up could find us.

The Pheonix is a nice little barin Civic, 21 east row to be precise.
No name tags, or any such bullshit. I’ll be the ugly bastard wearying a crappy white t-shit with the words “JOHN FRUM HE BRING CARGO” scribbled on it.
The funniest one I ever heard of was a techy IT blogger who went to a meet up, and after quite a while, realised everyone else there was actually some kind of pagan blogger – there were two meet-ups in the same place, and no other IT types had turned up!
ant, there’s no bluddy way I’m sticking one of those white labels with black texta pen on my lapel. I could always wear my “I’m an a-hole and proud of it”, but then I’d be lying.
There’s something nice about not knowing who you’re ‘conversing with’ in cyber space. The anonymity is very attractive, just like my wife.
I’ve been to internet get-togethers before, and the big problem is people wander around the venue, wondering where/who the others are. Some give up and go home. So, will there be a sign, or will poeple wear something so everyone can find each other?
And where the hell is the Phoenix? (I’m too old to drink in bars).
grogsmogfroglogdogfogblog
An alcoholic smokoholic amphibian-like wooden canine meterologically challenged blogger?
Isn’t it Phoenix? Where is it?
I’m fat and ugly? Will you refrain from laughing at me? The Mrs is skinny … will you keep your eyes off her?
I propose that “grogblog” is the worst blog-related word yet. A remarkable achievement!
